Agara town in Bengaluru south is unique of its kind ,  having a mix of tradition and contemporary culture. Within a reach of 100 meters , more than 5 temples take us to the past till 12th century . Our team recently explored few spots of tourist interests - 

Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Statue

This esthetic 100 feet idol welcomes visitors to Agara town with its grace.  One passing by the Agara road flyover would easily catch a glimpse of the Idol. At the base of this Idol is Abhaya Anjaneya swamy temple where a 5 feet Hanuman Idol is consecrated. Temple is usually crowded during on Saturdays.

Sri Kasheeshwara swamy temple 

Agara , Bengaluru

Shivalinga in the form of Kasheeshwara is worshipped here . Other idols include Parvathi & Ganesha. This temple is believed to be ancient existing since many centuries.  

Sri Anjaneya swamy temple

Agara , Bengaluru

This is the original ancient Agara Hanuman temple . Idols of Hanuman , Subramanya , Ganesha are concentrated here. 

Sri Chennaraaya swamy temple 

Agara , Bengaluru

Ancient temple - Lord Vishnu in the form of Chennaraaya swamy is worshipped here.

Durga Parameshwari temple

A recently constructed temple where Goddess parvathi in form of Durga parameshwari is worshiped

Jagannath Temple

A recently constructed temple in Oriya style.  Idols of Krishna , Balarama , Subhadra , Durga are worshiped. Also has a hall where regular poojas are conducted. Ambiance inside the temple is good for a meditation & relaxing. 

Sri Rama temple

Agara , Bengaluru

Another ancient temple with 3 sanctums. In the main sanctum Idols of Rama , Sita , Laxmana and Bhaktha Anjaneya are worshiped. 

Srinivasa Padmavathi temple

Agara , Bengaluru

Ancient temple has a rajagopura , Dwaja stambha & 2 sanctums. Idols of Vishnu in form of Srinivasa , Lakshmi and Padmavathi are worshiped here. 

Our team visited all these spots on a Saturday weekend . Guess what , the prasadams received in all these temples in form of Pongal , Puliogre , Curd rice just filled our menu for lunch ! Most of the temples are open from morning 7 to 11 AM and in evening between 6 PM to 7.30 PM
