Diabetes seem like a simple problem initially , but it can get quite complicated if not taken seriously. One has to ensure access to diabetes care from day one

Recognize the below symptoms of Hypoglycemia

  • Sweating
  • Anxiety
  • Sleepiness
  • Confusion
  • Headache
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Numbness in finger and toes
  • Slurred speech

What to do if noticed above

  • Check sugar levels immediately with glucometer
  • Eat or drink sugar containing food immediately such as Juice or Candy
  • Consult doctor if hypoglycemia is frequent

 Recognize the below symptoms of Hyperglycemia

  • General Weakness
  • Extreme thirst
  • Fruity breath
  • Frequent urination
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Deep , rapid breathing
  • Abdominal pain

What to do if noticed above

  • Drink a lot of water
  • Call doctor if you have nausea or vomiting
  • Inform your family members to rush to you to hospital if you become unconscious

 One contact doctor immediately if below symptoms are frequent

  • Blurred vision
  • Sweating
  • Trouble staying awake or being woken up
  • Fast , deep breathing
  • Breath that smells fruity
  • Belly pain , vomiting
  • Not feeling hungry
  • Feeling confused
  • Feeling nervous , shaky and weak
  • Extreme hunger
  • Dizziness and headache
  • Lost consciousness
  • If sick and cannot control blood sugar levels
