Yuva Nidhi , A Scheme to Support Unemployed Youth in Karnataka

Yuva Nidhi is a scheme launched by the government of Karnataka to provide monthly allowances to unemployed youth who hold a degree or diploma. The scheme was announced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on December 26, 2023, as part of the five poll promises made by the Congress party in the state. The scheme aims to help the youth in finding suitable jobs and enhancing their skills.

The Benefits

The benefits of the Yuva Nidhi scheme are as follows:

  • The scheme will give ₹3,000 to graduates and ₹1,500 to diploma holders who passed their exams in the 2022-23 academic year.
  • The scheme will cover around 10 lakh unemployed youth in the state.
  • The scheme will provide the allowances for 24 months, starting from the date of registration.
  • The scheme will also offer skill development training and career guidance to the beneficiaries.

The Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Yuva Nidhi scheme are as follows:

  • The applicant must be a resident of Karnataka.
  • The applicant must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • The applicant must have passed a degree or diploma course from a recognized institution in the 2022-23 academic year.
  • The applicant must not be employed in any government or private sector.
  • The applicant must not be a beneficiary of any other similar scheme.

The application process for the Yuva Nidhi scheme is as follows:

  • The interested candidates can apply online through the Seva Sindhu website.

  • The candidates can also visit the nearest Seva Kendra or Atalji Janasnehi Kendra to get assistance in applying for the scheme.
