Recently there was a launch of a new Wildlife Ambulance service in Bengaluru. Its a collaboration between private foundations and animal welfare organizations to address human wildlife conflict in the city. The service was launched by former cricketer and wildlife ambassador Anil Kumble. The project is a joint initiative between AV Automotive Platform, Tekion, and the Prani Animal Foundation.
To provide immediate response and humane rescue for wild animals found in urban areas or injured due to human wildlife conflict.Samyukta Horanadu (Founder of Prani Animal Foundation), Arvind Gowda (Senior Director at Tikiana), and Srinivasulu (Principal Secretary of the Forest Department) were present at the event.
The ambulance is specially designed to transport a variety of wildlife, including migratory birds, reptiles, monkeys, and small mammals. Rescued animals will be taken for professional medical treatment and rehabilitation at either Bannerghatta Biological Park or the Birds of Paradise Rehabilitation Centre.
