How to apply for a new BWSSB water connection in Bangalore

If you are living in Bangalore and want to get a new water connection from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), you need to follow some steps and procedures. BWSSB is the government agency that provides water supply and sewerage services to the city.

Eligibility Criteria for a New BWSSB Water Connection

To apply for a new BWSSB water connection, you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You should be the owner or occupant of the premises where you want the water connection.
  • You should have a valid lease cum sale deed or sale deed, khata certificate, building plan or sanction plan, photographs of building with owner, and RWH adoption document for premises measuring 1200 sq. ft. and above
  • You should have paid all your property tax dues to BBMP.
  • You should not have any pending dues or disputes with BWSSB.
 



Steps to Apply for a New BWSSB Water Connection

To apply for a new BWSSB water connection, you need to follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website of BWSSB at http://owc.bwssb.gov.in/ and register yourself with your mobile number and email ID
  • Login with your credentials and select the option of “New Water Connection” under “Services”.
  • Fill in the application form with the required details such as name, address, type of connection (residential or commercial), number of connections required, size of connection (15 mm or 25 mm), etc.
  • Upload the scanned copies of the documents mentioned above in PDF format.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 online through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or wallet2
  • After submitting the application form and paying the fee, you will receive an SMS confirmation with your application number.
  • You can track the status of your application online by entering your application number on the website.
  • Once your application is verified and approved by BWSSB officials, you will receive a demand note online with the details of charges to be paid for the water connection. The charges include meter cost, road cutting charges, security deposit, service charges, etc
  • You can pay the demand note online through any of the modes mentioned above within 15 days from the date of issue. If you fail to pay within 15 days, your application will be rejected and you will have to apply again
  • After paying the demand note, you will receive an RR number online which is your unique identification number for your water connection
  • You can then contact your nearest BWSSB sub-division office and request for laying of water pipeline from the main line to your premises. You will have to bear the cost of laying of pipeline as per BWSSB norms
  • Once the pipeline is laid and connected to your premises, you will receive a water meter from BWSSB which will record your water consumption and billing
  • You can then start using your water connection and pay your monthly bills online through KarnatakaOne portal at https://www.karnatakaone.gov.in/Info/Public/BWSSB or at any B1 centers across Bangalore
