After the 2023 elections , the Congress government which got majority and formed the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sri.Siddaramiah and Deputy Chief Minister Sri.D.K.Shivakumar with the support of Road Transport Corporations of Karnataka and its Mahanagaras , have provided a free bus travel facility to women of Karnataka in the form of Shakthi Yogana scheme
Highlights of Shakthi Yojana
- Free bus travel to Women , Girls , Transgenders community
- Free bus passes for travel to and from any destination within Karnataka who are residing in Karnataka only
- During the start of this scheme , a Rs.0 ticket will be issued by bus conductors
- On the Seva Sindhu portal - https://sevasindhuservices.karnataka.gov.in , Shakthi Smart cards may be applied where free passes are issued for specific months duration
- Women traveling need to display a government authorized Identity card to prove their identity having their photo such as Aadhaar card / Voter ID card / Passport / Ration card / Driving license / etc
Bus categories allowing Shakthi Yojana
- Free bus passes allowed only in Mahanagara Sarige , regular and express KSTRC government buses
- Allowed by all 4 bus travel corporations i.e BMTC , KSRTC , Kalyana Karnataka Sarige (KKRTC) , Vayavya Karnataka Sarige (NWKRTC)
