Muruga SO Kaanunu Kannada movie review , songs , trailer

Muruga S/O Kaanunu  directed by Vijay Praveen is a film that blends satire, social commentary, and emotional drama into a quirky narrative set in a small town. The film opens with a tragic flashback: a young boy loses his father to a violent murder. That boy grows up to become Krishna (played by Muni Krishna), a lawyer in the same town, carrying the weight of revenge in his heart. But instead of pursuing vengeance directly, Krishna becomes a local hero by bidding just ₹1 to catch a rogue pig that’s been troubling the town—a symbolic act that earns him public admiration.  As Krishna’s popularity grows, he helps couples elope, campaigns for cleanliness to fight a mosquito menace, and becomes a thorn in the side of local politician Dhanraj (Shobhraj). Meanwhile, a love triangle brews: Malli loves Krishna, but Krishna is drawn to Nandini. His mother (Vinaya Prasad), still grieving her husband’s death, reminds Krishna of his original purpose—to seek justice. The film shifts gears into an election drama, with Krishna preparing to challenge Dhanraj politically, all while navigating personal dilemmas and the ghosts of his past. A cameo by Thriller Manju adds flair to the climax, which ultimately ties back to the revenge seeded in Krishna’s childhood.

Vijay Praveen’s direction is ambitious, attempting to juggle satire, romance, political drama, and emotional revenge. The screenplay is packed with ideas—some clever, others undercooked. The pigcatching subplot is symbolic and humorous. The film’s tone oscillates between quirky and serious.

Movie shows that Justice isn’t always loud—it can be strategic and patient . Popularity can be earned through small acts of service . Grief doesn’t fade—it transforms into purpose.Politics begins at the grassroots—change starts locally . Forgiveness and revenge often walk a thin line
