Room Boy, directed by Ravi Nagadadinni is a gritty suspense thriller that explores ambition, deception, and the dark underbelly of urban nightlife through the eyes of a young dreamer caught in a web of crime. Room Boy follows Surya (Likhit Surya), a young man from North Karnataka who arrives in the city with dreams of becoming a film actor. Struggling to find opportunities, he works odd jobs at petrol bunks, bars, and eventually as a room boy in a hotel. His life takes a turn when a short film director offers him a role—but demands raw, unscripted performances captured through hidden cameras. Parallelly, a New Year’s party at the hotel turns into a nightmare. A group of friends, including Vardhan, Yash Shetty, and Raksha Nimbargi, are attacked by a masked intruder. Seven are found dead, five go missing. The police, led by Inspector Raghuram (Ashwin Hassan), launch an investigation using CCTV footage to unravel the mystery.  As Surya’s reel life begins to mirror reallife horror, the film blurs the line between performance and reality. What unfolds is a layered narrative of betrayal, ambition, and survival—culminating in a shocking revelation about the true identity of the killer and Surya’s connection to the crime.

Ravi Nagadadinni’s direction is taut and immersive. He uses CCTV footage, flashbacks, and nonlinear storytelling to build suspense. The screenplay is layered, alternating between Surya’s personal journey and the unfolding investigation. Dialogues are sharp, especially in scenes involving interrogation and emotional breakdowns. The film avoids clichés, opting instead for psychological realism and moral ambiguity. The pacing is brisk, with each scene adding tension and complexity.

Movie shows ambition must be balanced with awareness—dreams can be manipulated. Truth is often hidden in plain sight—watch closely . Empathy matters—especially for those living on society’s margins. Performance and reality can blur—know who you are beneath the mask . Justice requires vigilance not just evidence .
