 45, directed by Arjun Janya, is a bold Kannada multistarrer that fuses mythology, philosophy, and mass entertainment. Featuring Shivarajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B. Shetty, the film explores karma, mortality, and the fragile line between life and death. The story begins with Vinay (Raj B. Shetty), a simple IT employee who dreams of an accident that leads to his death. The next day, he realizes events are unfolding exactly as in his dream—including his bike crashing into a dog. Though he avoids his fate, Vinay becomes obsessed with questions of life after death. Enter Rayappa (Upendra), a ruthless figure representing Yamaraja, the god of death. Furious at Vinay for killing his dog, Rayappa gives him 45 days to live. As Vinay grapples with this countdown, Shivarajkumar appears as a spiritual force embodying resilience and devotion, guiding Vinay through a metaphysical journey inspired by the Garuda Purana.  The narrative blends mythological allegory with modern dilemmas, exploring karma, rebirth, and the choices that define human existence.

Raj B. Shetty shines as Vinay, portraying vulnerability and curiosity with depth. Upendra delivers a powerful performance as Rayappa, balancing menace with philosophical gravitas.  Shivarajkumar brings emotional weight and spiritual authority, grounding the film’s metaphysical themes. Supporting roles by Kaustubha Mani, Rajendran, and others enrich the ensemble.  Arjun Janya, making his directorial debut after years as a celebrated composer, impresses with his ambition. He gives equal screen time to all three stars, ensuring their roles feel integral rather than token. The screenplay is layered, drawing heavily from the Garuda Purana—touching on heaven, hell, karma, ancestral rites, and ethical dilemmas. the film succeeds in provoking thought while entertaining.  As expected from Janya, the music is a highlight—blending devotional rhythms with intense background scores.  Cinematography captures both the metaphysical grandeur and everyday realism, shifting seamlessly between Vinay’s mundane life and surreal encounters with death. Visuals, especially the countdown motif and mythological sequences, are striking.  

Movie shows that Life is fragile, Every moment counts, and destiny can change in an instant. Karma is inevitable , Actions have consequences, whether immediate or cosmic. Death is not an end, The film suggests continuity through rebirth and spiritual evolution. Balance of devotion and desire: True fulfillment lies in aligning personal ambition with ethical living.
