KD The Devil, directed by Prem, is a highvoltage Kannada action drama starring Dhruva Sarja. Set in the 1970s, the film follows Kaali (Dhruva Sarja), an illiterate kerosene shop worker who becomes entangled with the underworld.  He admires and later saves Deva (Sanjay Dutt), a dreaded don aiming to contest elections. Kaali’s loyalty and transformation into a violent figure form the core of the narrative. The story unfolds through a flashback structure, with political rivalries, family ties, and gang wars driving the drama. Dhruva Sarja delivers a restrained yet explosive performance, shining in action and dance sequences. Reeshma Nanaiah plays Lakshmi, Kaali’s love interest, with fiery energy. Sanjay Dutt commands presence as Deva, the feared gangster. Shilpa Shetty appears in a strong supporting role as Deva’s wife. Ramesh Aravind & V. Ravichandran add gravitas as political figures. Kiccha Sudeep with brief cameo appearance. Prem, known as “Showman Prem,” delivers a grand visual spectacle with massive sets and largescale action. Arjun Janya’s soundtrack is loud and energetic. William David’s cinematography captures the retro setting with flair, emphasizing grandeur and stylized action.

Movie shows that Loyalty and choices shape destiny, Kaali’s transformation shows how admiration and allegiance can alter life’s path. Power and corruption are intertwined - The film highlights how politics and crime often overlap. Family bonds matter , Kaali’s relationship with his brother Dharma reflects the tension between order and chaos. Ambition comes at a cost, Pursuing power can lead to moral compromise and violence.
