8 Tips to prevent heart attacks

  • Balance your diet -  Take a reduced calorie diet which is rich in vegetables and whole grains. Substitute whole milk products with skimmed milk and cook with unsaturated vegetable oil

  • Heart Workout - Regular program of aerobic exercise like walking , jogging , running or swimming. Schedule at least three sessions a week of at-least 30 minutes. Reduce obesity

  • Say Yes to - Vegetables , Fruits , lean cuts of meat , chicken without skin , Fish & brown bread

  • Cut cholesterol - Elevated lipids namely cholesterol and triglycerides are best controlled through a regiment of strict diet which is low on saturated fats such as organ meats , fatty meats and egg yolk. Avoid butter and cheese.

  • Quit Smoking - Smoking triples chances of heart attack. Quit today and reduce your risk to half in 2 years

  • Control BP - Hypertension makes the heart work harder to move blood through the body. If you get short of breath when you exert dont ignore it, consult your doctor today. Address Hypertension with proper diet , exercise and medication
